Other Events - Black Dyke at Delph Band ClubBlack Dyke Band played to a packed Delph Band Club for a charity concert in aid of eight year old Molly Hopwood, a Saddleworth child who needs treatment for a serious medical condition which can only be obtained in USA. A full concert featuring soloists Richard Marshall, Dave Thornton, Peter Roberts, Ann Armstronge and Brett Baker raised over £700 for the appeal. Nick Childs and the band were making their second annual appearance at the club prior to the European Championships in Belfast, where this year they appear as defending champions. The playing was, as always, of the highest order throughout and the appreciative audience was rewarded with an encore, the ever popular 'Music' by John Miles.Photographs
Holding a concert of this nature in such a parochial venue gave members of the public who would not otherwise have the opportunity, the chance to hear the International Champions in such fine form and also provided a showcase for five of their extremely talented soloists.
