Other Events - Saddleworth & Oldham Area Championship 2006

On Sunday 18 June 2006 the presentation for Saddleworth & Oldham Area Championship was held at Delph Band Club.

Jim Fitton of United Co-operatives Milnrow Band receives the Oldham Chronicle trophy and a cheque for £750 from Chronicle editor Jim Williams while representatives from Best Local runners up Mossley and 3rd placed Holme Silver look on.

Having regained the coveted title of Saddleworth and Oldham Champions Brighouse & Rastrick recieve a cheque for £2500 and the Marjorie Fielding Trophy. Recieving the awards on their behalf from United Co-operatives secretary and keen band follower Ian Mason, is cornet player Matthew Hilton.

United Co-operatives Ian Mason presents Phil Lamb of Marsden (Riverhead Brewery) with the runners up cheque for £1000.

Eight year old Charlotte Cockburn proudly presents the newest prize, the Hayden Bradley Memorial Trophy and a cheque for £250 for the best overall youth band to Susan Landon of Rochdale Borough Youth Band.
