Delph Whit Friday News

Sunday 12th July saw Delph Band Club play host to our annual Presentation Evening. Our very own Delph Band provided the entertainment, with an array of guest players from the world famous Black Dyke Band amongst their ranks. Dr Nicholas Childs very kindly offered to step in as MD, covering for his good friend Philip Goodwin who was away on holiday. The hour long concert was followed by the presentation itself and then the beef butty supper, the highlight of the evening for some in the audience (and the band!!)

Our 2009 Presentation Evening will be held on Sunday 12th July. A short concert will start at 8pm, featuring our very own Delph Band and some special guests from this year's Champions (and recently crowned English Nationals Champions) - Black Dyke Band. Dr Nicholas Childs has also offered his services to cover for Delph's regular MD Phil Goodwin who will be on holiday.

The presentation of awards will commence around 9pm, followed by the ever popular beef butty supper.

From the beauty of the morning events to a beast of an evening! As soon as we have access to our photographs from Marlin Images we will 'flood' (pardon the pun) our site with shots from our very soggy but successful evening.

We are pleased to announce that brass band photographer John Stirzaker attended the Presentation Evening of the Saddleworth & Oldham District Central Whit Friday Prizes and we hope to include some of his shots from the evening soon.
